Hey there everyone!! I kept today's post short and sweet since I feel like I have a thousand things to do before leaving for vacation this weekend and not not only are we going on vacation for 9 days but the day after we get home I start working again full time!! EEK! I decided to make a theme for today's post on all our favorite traveling goodies. Make sure to check out Michelle at This Grey House to see what she loved this week!
Picture
1. Father and Son matching Air Force 1's-
The hubby's birthday is next week and he has been on a shoe buying frenzy! We went this weekend and got him two new pairs to wear in Florida and he also bought Greyson a matching pair because when you have a son these are the things you look forward to doing!

2. Eddie Bauer IPad holder-
We've had this for awhile now. It was a LIFESAVER for the drive up to New York when we were moving and it was just as great on our last flight to Florida. This is a must have for any traveling in my opinion.

3. Melissa and Doug Water Wow and Sticker Sheets-
The Water Wow kept little man pretty busy on our last flight so I am already planning on getting a new one and not letting him play with it until we are on the flight, and the stickers he is just getting into. He loves to stick them all on a blank sheet of paper, so I figured this would be a good activity for when any loud peeps shall arise from him haha

4. Spider Man Toddler Backpack-
Everyone knows how crazy I have been about finding the perfect backpack for Greyson. I searched high and low and could not make a decision. I have a few in mind that I love but I stumbled upon this at good ole Targ one day and scored it for only $4! I figured it'd be perfect to bring to Florida and let him have his own carry on with his toys and sippy cup!

5. Bobo the Bear Buckle Toy-
We all know my LOVE for the Buckle Toys. They are so great and the turtle version of this kept Greyson occupied on the last flight so this time I am packing Bobo and hoping for the best!!!

Hope you all have a great week!! What things do you love when traveling?

Right before Valentine's Day our roomies left for a week vacation to Florida and we were honestly as excited to have the house to ourselves as they were to go away. Any time you live with anyone a little break is always much needed and appreciated. The in-laws left that Friday night for their drive to Florida and the hubs and I went to bed early because Greyson had woken up with a 104 fever that day and we were exhausted from dealing with that and running him to the doctor. Saturday was Valentine's Day, we had plans with a few couple friends to have drinks and apps at our house and unfortunately had to cancel because Greyson still wasn't acting right. Thank god we did because Grey started throwing up! Daddy ran to the store which took what felt like 6 hours because a Blizzard was suppose to be coming and the store was MOBBED! I sat covered in throw up with Greyson, who was understandably upset because he had never thrown up before, until Joe came home with flu supplies for an army. Gatorade, Ginger Ale, crackers, oyster crackers that would fit into Greyson's snack container, carpet cleaner, anything and everything. He also stopped by Children's Place that is in the same shopping center for more comfy clothes because we had already changed his outfits about 4 times and he was worried we would eventually run out if this continued. Guys are so crazy. I was annoyed Joe took so long and I was annoyed he spent a million dollars. I was pretty much just annoyed by anything at that point, but who wouldn't be after sitting around in puke waiting for their husband to hurry back and help?! I think I was just as scared as Greyson was because half the time he was choking a little bit because he wasn't sure what was happening. It was frightening.

Thank god kids these days are so technology savvy! This thing was a lifesaver while I was sick and his Dad was at work.

The throwing up finally stopped before bed time so we put Grey to bed and ate a quick appetizer, had a glass of wine and went to bed ourselves. With having kids I'm sure there will be many more Valentine's Day's that will look like this!!! Sunday we had some wine while Greyson took it easy and we made Beef Stew for our first time in the Crock Pot. We had a nice lazy day and a yummy yummy dinner. 3 am rolls around and Joe is up puking his brains out. AWESOME. I had a phone interview scheduled for Monday and he was suppose to be helping with Greyson!! Of course that is also the day the fence blows down because of the wind and I can't let the dogs out to use the bathroom until it is fixed. Poor hubby in between getting sick is out in 6 degree weather hammering up a fence. Oh this was also a three day weekend for him because his company had off for President's Day. What good luck we have over here. One thing the guy swears by is that he will never in his life eat beef stew again :) Monday night I tossed and turned all night. I felt a little nauseous but I always think I'm getting sick so I kept pushing it aside. 6am comes and I'm up sick!!!! Joe was almost to work and said he'd come home but I figured I was fine so I told him to stay. Needless to say hours later I was begging him to come home. I could barely get up. I tried to go get Greyson from his crib after nap time and had to lay on his floor before running to the bathroom to be sick. It was horrendous. Thankfully for each of us the bug only lasted 24 hours. By Wednesday we all felt better but were tired and a little off still. Thursday we felt great. Joe wanted Pizza and I wanted wine so we definitely had our appetites back! Friday we cleaned up for the in-laws return home on Saturday and Saturday morning they came home safe and sound. What a week of having the place to ourselves we had!!!! FAIL!! After a long week stuck inside, I did manage to get out of the house a few time. I took Greyson to paint pottery with his cousin Sophie on Thursday, which he is still a little young for, wanting to put the paint brushes in his mouth and all, and Saturday morning we met them again at Sky Zone and we all jumped for a little while. That place is so much fun and so energy busting for the kids. Its a must do activity!!

I missed last week due to my whole family getting a stomach virus!! More on our week staycation later. This week we found two super cool new shops that we are totally obsessing over!!! Make sure to check out what Michelle at This Grey House is loving too!!

Picture
1. AquaDoodle-
We actually got the Crayola version of this but same toy different name right? I've been loving that each week Greyson brings home art work from daycare so I made a spot in the little old basement to display his artwork which then got me excited to start trying more art projects at home with him too. I figured we would start with this so he isn't coloring all over his grandparents walls!! I had gotten him an erasable Crayola coloring book for Christmas and when I turned my head for two seconds he had already scribbled crayons all over our comforter, so better safe than sorry this time around!

2. Stick To You Roots Tee-
LOOOOVE. I got this in the Florida version for Greyson to wear when we are in Florida!! He is after all a Floridian!! The turn around time said 2-3 weeks but my order was shipped after only a week! Awesome!

3. Subsidy Shades-
I have been following this shop on Instagram for awhile now and love everything they stand for. They helped fund their own adoption as well as many others through their sales! They are inexpensive and super cute! I am loving the bright colors and am going to order a pair for Greyson to wear in Florida!

4. Rive Babe Threads Comic Joggers and Rad Tee-
I stumbled upon this shop this week and am LOVING it!!! I love the jogger pants trend and am super excited to have Greyson wear them too! I love these comic pants so so much and they also have such cute shirts like this Kindness is Rad, a Team No Sleep raglan and a One Love tee that just happens to be on sale! The prices are great and the owner is super friendly and answered any questions about sizing right away!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!! Grey and I are battling colds so it's not so happy here but with a few more cups of coffee (on my part) we will be on our way!! This week I am loving all things Spring. With Spring comes warmer weather and with some highs this week only reaching 14 degrees we are in need of WARM weather!! Be sure to check out what Michelle over at This Grey House is loving this week too!

Picture
1. Surf Sup Tee and Swimmies-
I am already on the look out for warmer weather clothes for Grey and this shop hit the nail on the head with super cute tees and even swim shorts with their Spring & Summer line they just launched. I mean Surf Sup....how awesome is that?? Being from Florida we must rock these in New York this summer at the beach!

2. Trilogy Design Co Notorious & Boho Chic Tee's-
Can this Mama do any wrong with the tees she designs?? You know her stuff is awesome when your friends without kids even text you to see if you know about her shop! We are loving this Notorious Tee that sold out supppppper fast the other day and also love this one for the little ladies! Can't go wrong with gold!

3. Mason Blake Apparel Dope Tank-
Greyson NEEDS this. This Mama also just released a bunch of new designs and we are loving this tank especially!! Little kids int ants are just too adorable.

4. Native Kid's water shoes-
My SIL showed me these shoes over the summer and I now follow them on Instagram. I am loving the bright colors and the fact that they are waterproof for all the warm weather activities!!

Hey, hey, hey there!! Make sure to check out what Michelle is lovin this week for her kiddies!
Picture
1. Trilogy Design Co Sunday Funday Hoodie-
We can't get enough of this brand!! It is our second shirt of theirs with a long list of others that we are dying for. We get so many compliments when wearing their tees! When you're a toddler everyday is Sunday Funday, right?!

2. Calvin Klein Swim-
Being the crazy person that I am, I have already started obsessing over swimsuits for Greyson. With a blizzard last week and an ice storm today, it seems like forever away that we will actually be getting some rays on our pale, pale bodies but great minds think alike and Greyson's equally crazy Aunt Lauren bought this for him months ago and just told me about it!! I love it! She got him one last year too and I loved the swimshorts/tank combo!!

3. Lot 801 Leggings-
I have wanted to try leggings on Greyson for a while now but was nervous of what Daddy AKA fashion buzz kill would think, but with awesome prints like these I am so doing it!!! I can’t get enough of these leggings! Is it bad I already have a outfits planned out for them??

4. WeeStructed Raising Tiny Humans Is Exhausting Tee and Coffee Mug-
Ain’t that the truth!!!! I love love love these!! The tee is perfect for weekends, errand running, or really just every single day while raising a tiny little one, and the mug is obviously a necessity for the coffee I live off of daily. Must. Have!

We survived our first blizzard as New Yorkers!!! Being newbies here, we really didn't know what to expect with the storm. Sunday night, I sat in the ER with the hubs because of his old man back and reports were starting to come in of possibly 36 inches! The only reason I talked him into going to the ER was incase we got stuck inside for a few days and his back didn't get any better. Monday the reports were still saying 20-36" and they even closed the roads around 3 pm. Joe was working about an hour away from home that day and with traffic it took him over 2 hours to get home. While waiting for Daddy to get home, I took baby Boo out to play in the snow and we got to use his sled for the first time! He LOVED IT!! LOVED. I couldn't get him to come in. After about 45 minutes and a frozen Mommy we finally came in :)

Tuesday morning we woke up to a BUNCH of snow and doggies that were dying to go out. Grandma and Grandpa went out a shoveled a path for them (I couldn't help! I had to watch the baby!! haha) and then we all relaxed, had coffee and watched the news to see where got the most snow and what the roads were looking like. Later everyone went out to shovel and again I stayed in for awhile with Greyson, then after crying at the window for what seemed like ever, I took him back outside and we played in the snow. One great thing is the cold WEARS THEM OUT!! :) So Greyson took a long nap afterwards while we enjoyed some wine and snacks on our snow day.

Out shopping today and this is what the parking lots look like after being plowed.
I loved the snow day!! It was nice having everyone home with Greyson and I so we weren't bored all day! We have snow in our further again for Friday and Sunday into Monday, which apparently the weather man is concerned about Sunday. We shall see!

TOTally Obsessed....with BOYS

We are super late with today's TOTally Obsessed post but gimme a break. I had a hubby in the ER all night Sunday into Monday morning and then a blizzard came for us last night. I have been trying to catch up on sleep and when not sleeping or chugging spiked hot chocolate, playing with little man outside in our first blizzard! This week I featured our obsessions that are totally boy worthy. Don't forget to check out This Grey House to see what they have going on as well!!

Picture
1. Tonka Truck-
We actually got this brand new with tags, and for FREE. Score! Greyson loves it! We play with it all the time. He loves to sit in the bed and let me push him around the house. His new thing is watching his Sesame Street YouTube videos on my phone in the bed of the truck while he pushes it around. So cute.

2. Junk Food Batman Raglan-

This tee is not only super cool for little ones but it GLOWS IN THE DARK. How freakin awesome is that?? Greyson gets a kick out of seeing it glow. Aunt Danielle scored this for Grey for only $10 for Christmas. Junk Food has an awesome clearance section that we are constantly stalking.

3. Gap Toddler Boy Skinny Jeans-

We love love love Carter’s jegging skinnies on Grey but we recently got these and he looks so boyish and cute I can’t get over it. I also like the looser skinny fit on him better. These look cute with any shirt and shoes combo so they are our new go to jeans!

4. Spider Man Winter Boots-
Grandma scored these for Grey on the actual day the blizzard was coming for us. I failed and waited too long to buy snow boots and when I called everywhere they said they were sold out. Grandma stumbled upon these at Kohl’s. The last pair, in his size. Fate?? He loves that they light up, he is constantly hitting the bottom to get them to light up. So boyish and so so cute! Also $45 down to $10 the cutest!! Haha!

5. Hess Truck-
Dad wanted to get Greyson the 2014 Hess truck this Chrsitmas but it was sold out everywhere!!! We settled for this 2011 version from Amazon and Greyson loves it. It makes noise, lights up and comes with a little car that pulls back. It was better than nothing and turned out better than we thought! Every little boy needs a toy Hess truck!

Long weekend with friends

1/22/2015

Last week we had some of our besties fly in for a long weekend and we couldn’t have been more excited. Joe didn't get to come to Florida with Grey and I in Novemeber so he hasn’t seen our friends since we moved in July, and after a few cold months of us not getting out of the basement or house too much, it was needed! Sara and Drew are one of our closest couple friends (I said ONE OF, so to our other couple friends cursing me out in their heads right now, don't rule yourself out) so it wasn't weird at all with them coming to stay at the in-laws with us. They have met Joe's parents many times and everyone gets along great.

They flew in on Wednesday to LaGuardia so Grey and I woke up super early and made our way ALL the way to the city. It was my first time driving that far since moving here and getting on all these different highways scares me, but we made it thanks to the ole trusty GPS and a little Yo Gabba on the Ipad for Grey. After picking them up I was so happy to see familiar faces that I didn't even care if I would've had to drive 6 hours to go get them! After getting settled in I took them to John Harvard's for lunch which is a local pub/brewery. After a few pumpkin beers, (yes, I'm still drinking pumpkin anything for as long as people will sell it to me!) we did some grocery shopping and then came home and made a nice welcome dinner for them.

Grey thought Sara was craze for jumping in the kid seat with him!

Carter loved having Aunt Sara here to cuddle him.

Not gonna lie, it's a little hard to show guests around when you have a kid as young as Greyson. Oh Thursday Drew suggested a movie, but no way in hell my wild kid would sit through a movie at this age, or ever?? I thought about a winery but its cold so Greyson wouldn't be able to run wild in the open grass. So instead, I took them out to eat, again. Haha. We went to this place I had only been to for drinks but have been dying to try, called That Meetball Place. They serve, you guessed it. MEATBALLS! Any kind you could think of. Its such a cool concept. You can have your meatballs on a roll, a slider, over spaghetti, or even on top of a salad. I had a buffalo chicken meatball which was DELICIOUS and a balls of fire meatball which was good too! We all loved our food and local brewed beers as well. After that we did a little bit of shopping for our ski trip and then we went home and enjoyed New York style pizza (we had to treat them to world's best pizza!) and more drinks of course! Can you tell that this long weekend with them consisted of LOTS of eating and drinking???

Friday we left for Pennsylvania, while Greyson stayed home with his Grandma and Grandpa. I was a little nervous since he has never been away from the both of us for longer than a day, but he did great! So great that I just may be planning our next mini getaway as I type!

It was nice to get pictures of my baby while I was away

Once we got to our condo in the Pocono's we got ready and headed out to Main St for dinner and drinks. We went to a place called Yard Of Ale and both the food and drinks were on point. So good that I finished my whole plate! After dinner we ran (literally ran, it was 4 DEGREES out!!!!!) to the car and headed back to the condo to play cards and have drinks like the old days.

I was really paying for acting like it was the old days with an 8am wake up call and a little hangover :) but we got up, Drew made breakfast and they were on their way to skiing. I decided to hang at the condo since I knew skiing and freezing my ass off wouldn't be my thing. After a few hours of a terrible time for Sara, she joined me and we went back to Yard Of Ale for more eating and drinking while the boys finished skiing. After a long day, everyone was tired and sore so we ordered pizza and went to bed pretty early.

Thankfully Sunday we left early to get home since we ended up getting stuck in over 3 hours of pretty much stopped traffic!! The roads were so icy and we passed about 25 accidents. I can't stop thinking about all the people involved and hoping they are okay.
Picture

Sunday the guys watched football all night while we hung with Greyson and continued to eat and drink. How were we STILL drinking or even eating for that matter??

Monday I sadly took them back to the airport and am already counting down the days until we see them again in March. Greyson became so comfortable with them and couldn't stop dancing with Drew and snuggling up to him right before they left. I really didn't want to see them go. :( It was such a nice weekend being back with close friends. It sure does make us miss home, but we know everything we are working towards here will pay off for the life we see our little for family of three. <3
